Here's a schematic of the first network you should build:

LAN (PC) <-> router <-> long haul circuit <-> router <-> LAN (PC)

In the first configuration each LAN should be it's own logical and physical subnet.

Here's a schematic of the second network you should build:

LAN (PC) <-> router <-> long haul circuit 1 to Internet <-> router <-> long haul circuit 2 to Internet <-> router

Configure Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to shape traffic over the two links to the "Internet".
