Also known as The Kamusi Project, the project is a collaborative work by people all over the world to establish new dictionaries of the Swahili language within Swahili and between Swahili and English. The dictionary is housed at Yale University and is available by FTP. Check out the actual site for more Kamusi Project information.
What we have done is to download the dictionaries in text form and designed an interface using perl scripts to search the Kamusi (Dictionary). The project is still underway and we hope to add more functionality to the search engine so that one can search not only by the first field but also by plural, examples and so on.
Okay, enough talk, let's get down to it. What dictionary would you like to search?

The contents of the dictionaries have not been modified as per (C)1994 and (C)1995 Yale Program in African Languages, Yale University, New Haven, CT 06520, U.S.A.
