Third floor roof of Dennis Hall, looking northeast from the southwest corner. The three bits of gear on the fourth floor roof are, from left to right, our campus camera, weather station, and Ray Hively's solar telescope.
The wind data is recorded on that weather station. It is higher than any of the adjacent buildings and sits roughly 65' off the ground.

Looking east from the southwest corner. You can follow the break in the parapet wall down the front of the building in the earlier picture to place yourself. The entrance door leads to our hardware lab where much of the assembly and testing would be done.

Looking west from just underneath the fourth floor roof. That area and the corresponding one on the north side are places I think we should consider placing the wind unit.

Ray's solar telescope. It's hard to see in this picture but the black and white slab under the white gear box is an anti vibration setup replete with springs, air bladder dampening, etc.

Close-on the West edge of the fourth floor roof is another place we could consider for the wind unit. Up here I'd worry about interfering with Ray's telescope and I'm not sure it would be worth the extra hassle.

Don't mind the wiring mess, the students have the innerduct they just keep changing the way the GPS is powered so they haven't put it in yet. They recently figured-out the last of the details to make it solar powered, it has been working steadily that way since December so they are almost ready to wrap it up.
