Wayne County Connections

The image above is a logical diagram of the internet connection in Wayne County. At the center of most of the action is GTE's frame cloud which is represented by the box labeled GTE. All traffic coming into Infocom from around Wayne County come in through the frame cloud. Note that the single-mode fiber connection between Earlham College, RP&L, and Infocom that is currently not active. This connection will replace the PVC that goes into GTE's frame cloud once the connection is active, which should be about 1 month from now. Single-mode fiber provides greater bandwidth and can support faster data rates.
