- Began my search for an existing PVM project that I could work on over the semester
- Sent a few e-mails out to anyone who might be able to pass along ideas or particular interest of their own
- Received a couple of responce e-mails from people at Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Week of Sept. 11
- Decided the I would work on the idea from Stephen at Oak Ridge National Labratory(ORNL)
- Sent him an email expressing my interest in his idea
- Tried to obtain a better understanding of Stephen's suggestion
- Not having much luck finding anything documented about "clusterized" code
Week of Sept. 18
- Sent email to Stephen to ask for clearer definition of "clusterized" code
- Research on Parallel Programming
- Research on PVM and MPI
- Compared some of the difference between PVM and MPI
Week of Sept. 25
- Working on 20 min. Presentation that I am giving on the 28th
- Received a couple of pointers from Charlie on what I should start working on next
- Downloaded PVM source code from PVM Homepage
- Received an e-mail from Stephen which gave me a better understanding of the "clusterized" code
Week of Nov. 13
- Set up four acl machines on the fourth floor of Dennis.
- Downloaded PVMPOV source off of web.
- Installed pvmpov in my directory.
- Started a PVMPOV web page.
Week of Nov. 20
- Configuing PVMPOV source code to use two different architectures.
- Writing Prime Numers code to use for my third benchmark (pipelined).
