What you should bring
From WildWiki
The following is a list of important gear to bring on the trip. It will probably be warm on our trip but cold weather especially at high elevations is certainly possible. Because of this it is important to have the right gear and dress in layers. Sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and backpacks will be provided. If you have your own bring it to the pre-trip meeting so we can see if it is sufficient.
Personal Gear:
Clothing *2 short-sleeve shirts (NOT COTTON. Polyester or polypropylene is good for keeping you dry.) *1 long-sleeve shirt to protect from sun and bugs. Again synthetic material is best for keeping dry. *1 pair long underwear (good for keeping legs warm in colder weather and using as in-camp PJs) *1-2 pairs quick drying breathable pants *1 wool or fleece jacket or sweater in case it gets cold. * Outer layer: water/wind proof rain jacket and pants. Rain jacket should have a hood. *2-3 pairs underwear *2-3 pairs wool socks *Sun hat (a baseball cap or all around brimmed hat will work) *Winter hat *Hiking boots *In camp tennis shoes *1 pair of lightweight gloves or mittens
Other Required Gear
*2 bandanas *flashlight or head lamp (with extra batteries) *lightweight tin or tupperware bowl and spoon *Toilet kit
The toilet kit should include toothbrush, tooth past (Tom's natural if you can get it), chapstick, feminine products if needed (err on the safe side), as well as sunscreen.
*Sunglasses *Be sure to bring any medication you need or may need on the trip. Camping trips are not a good time to stop taking medicine. *Compass and Whistle *Pocket knife *small journal (one you don't mind getting dirty) *Pen and/or pencil *two water bottles (nalgenes work best)
Optional Items
*Camera and film (remember that lighter weight is better) *deck of cards *watch *binoculars
Please do not bring electronics into the backcountry. We want this to be a true outdoor experience.
