What is SDAC
What is the Student Direct Action Coalition?
WHAT IS THE STUDENT DIRECT ACTION COALITION?
MISSION STATEMENT : The Student Direct Action Coalition is a
group for the purpose of networking inter-
and intra-collegiate organizations in proactive
non-violent direct action for social change.
STRATEGY, TACTICS, AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MEANS AND ENDS
Maintaining a peaceful presence more powerful than the
threat of violence and is, in our opinion, currently the
most effective tool available to activists today.
For this reason our group is dedicated to the practice
of action beyond violence.
"Our true home is in the present moment,
to live in the present moment is a miracle.
The miracle is not to walk on water.
the miracle is to walk on the green earth in
the present moment, to appreciate the peace
and beauty that are available now.
Peace is all around us
-in the world
-and in nature
and within us-
in our bodies-
and in our spirits.
Once we learn to touch this peace
We will be healed and transformed.
It is not a matter of faith;
It is a matter of practice."
