_Results of the ASR poll_

Well, I've decided you are all a bunch of nice chaps (even if I didn't think
that already). Your taste in everything is exceptional. You are all invited
to my parties if you are ever in Boulder.
They were also very very varied, and tended towards the less mainstream. (eg,
microbrews) I didn't really get enough votes for anything to declare a
clear winner.
But here is my summary:

Beer & Brewery:
Generally, darker stronger stuff. Samual Smiths was popular (Oatmeal
Stout forever!), as was Anchor. Basically, the good stuff--and generally
micros. The least micro I saw where Heineken, Newkie Brown and Guiness
(none of which I have a problem with).
No one voted for one of the Budmilloors! Happy happy joy joy!
Clearly the typical ASR reader has exceedingly refined taste.

Coffee:
Surprisingly few entries in this, I thought it would be more popular. I
should have worded it "caffeine", I suppose. Anyway, mostly the entries where
local quality joints; Starbucks featured more often then most.

Music:

One word: LOUD
About equally split between very loud metal/modern/industrial and very loud
classical. The most popular was NIN, followed by Bach.
Also featuring are Pink Floyd (with Roger, naturally), Kate Bush, Metallica
and lots lots more.

Missing were Barry Manilow's Greatest Hits, Frank Sinatra's easy-listening
favourites and disco versions of great space themes. (That last CD once heard
by me, and I've regretted not taping it ever since. It was hard to listen
to a disco version Also Sprach Zarathustra (aka 2001) with a straight face.
At least I have Rolf Harris does Starway to Heaven and Star Trek stars sing
your favourites to console me)
