Gorce Petrov

Gorce Petrov (Varos, kaj Prilep, 1865 - Sofia, 1921) is one of the most famous organizers of the macedonian national-freedom movement. For a long time he was a member and a representative of VMRO. He was opposed to the vrhovists and the Bulgarian circle that wanted to attach Macedonia to Bulgaria. Because of that he was brutally killed in Sofia.

Gorce Petrov collected matherials about the geography of the Macedonian Folk Works. A part of his collected matherial is published in the collection called Matherials for studying of Macedonia, which attracts a special interest today.
