why I am not liberal or progressive.
What does it mean to be liberal?
Who wants neo-liberal trade practices? It is liberal
ideas that support the exploitation of central america.
Look at the definition of the liberal world view. 'Fre e'
trade is on the top of the proirity list for the liberal
agenda. environmentalism only allowed to enter the debate
as long as it support the contunued exploitation of the
people throught the world. I hear the words 'sustainable developme nt
and i realize that the focus is on the development part.
Workers rights only come into the picture in the abstract as well.
Remember, trade is central to the liberal agenda. If there
is a conflict between the rights of common workers and the
profits of multinational 'free' trading, you will notice a
common result. Just look at NAFTA and the working conditions
in mexico to see what side our liberal administration has
been taking. Sometimes 'free' trading in the context of
multinaitonal developments means that the poor trade thier
labor and resources to the wealthy for free.
Even the term progressive has a ring similar to
that of the destruction that we call progress. Under the
mask of the issues that we c are about, the ruling members of
the ruling class are selling us the idea of the
excessive exploitation of our lands and the exploitation
of any country that we have the ability ,(backed up
by military??) to exploit. I hate that I have been foced
by our so called 'democracy' (actually a plutocracy..
rule by the wealthy or those who have money) into having
my vote identified with the practices described above.

Who wants a centralization of power? I don't
want t he corporations to have free reign over everything.
In fact I really don't want them to dump stuff in the
river or cut the last of our forests.
This doesn't mean that I stand for a strong ruling entity
with a centralization of power.

This i s what I hear conservatives complaining about.
Many of the conservatives that you meet will list
among their top priorities for being conservative
the fact that they don't like 'big government'.

One place where I may differ from most people,
including the traditional conservative thought,
is my definition of what forms a strong ruling
often takes. I think that the pure plutocracy
might replace our plotocratic democracy if we
take away the power of the democratic centraliza tion.
However, if we could find a way to decrease the power
of the big ruling power, then I would be all for it.
so...
I am opposed to the donination of people. I see that
often a corporation can be a form of a governing body
in itself . So I think that I can relate to not wanting
the big structure created by those in power.

I could say that I am more opposed to what the traditional
conservatives stand for than I am opposed to what the
liberals stand for. This would be tru e. However, I think
that this type of thinking is devisive. This doesn't
mean that I am willing to throw away my power to someone
just because they are not as bad.

POWER IS FROM THE ROOTS.

Watch out what you say that you stand for.
